Like many local businesses, Jergens, Inc. has had to make some tough staffing decisions during these trying times. However, this longtime Manufacturing Works Member was able to make use of SharedWork Ohio, a voluntary layoff aversion program that allows workers to remain employed and employers to retain trained staff during times of reduced business activity.

Join us to learn about their successes, as well as the lessons they learned along the way. Together, we'll explore how this program can help other companies like yours:

  • Retain skilled and trained employees
  • Avoid the expense of recruiting and training new workers once business improves
  • Maintain existing employee benefits
  • Provide employees with the security of keeping their jobs

There will be time for Q&A and networking at the end of the presentation.

About Our Presenter

In 1942, Jack Schron, Sr. founded Glenn Tool and Manufacturing, with his father Christy. In response to the needs of wartime production, they began to manufacture standard components, with the goal of helping American Manufacturers operate quickly and more efficiently. "The Standard Components with the Highest Standards" became this new company's founding philosophy, and it put Jergens, Inc. on the forefront of the "lean manufacturing" movement before anyone even thought to put those two words together.

Since then Jergens, Inc. has grown to comprise three distinct business units: Workholding Solutions, Lifting Solutions, and Specialty Fasteners. Building on its reputation of uncompromising quality standards, Jergens is committed to helping its customers achieve leaner, more profitable manufacturing, and continues to add products and engineered solutions for an integrated approach to "Manufacturing Efficiency."
