Workforce Development Coordinator

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Workforce Development Coordinator to join our team responsible for administering the Scaling Apprenticeship Grant in Ohio. The Scaling Apprenticeship Grant program aims to expand apprenticeship opportunities throughout the state, supporting workforce development and bridging the skills gap. As a Workforce Development Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation and management of the grant's incentive components. You will also play a pivotal role in incentivizing employers to engage in apprenticeship programs, fostering economic growth, and developing a skilled workforce for the future!

The Scaling Apprenticeship Through Sector-Based Strategies grant is a statewide grant that is funded by United States Department of Labor. The funding will play a vital role in helping Ohio address the workforce shortage and skills gap affecting the manufacturing sector. The Ohio Manufacturing Workforce Partnership (OMWP) will upskill 5,000 Ohioans over the term of the grant through Registered Apprenticeship Programs and innovative earn and learn credentials that meet the hallmarks of registered apprenticeship.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in program administration, grant management, or a related field
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship programs, workforce development, or similar initiatives

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Ohio workforce development programs and policies is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Program Administration:
    • Collaborate with the grant management team to develop and implement the incentive framework and guidelines
    • Review and interpret program policies, guidelines, and requirements related to incentives
    • Assist in the development of incentive-related procedures and documentation
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of incentive strategies and recommend improvements, as necessary
    • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to apprenticeship incentives
  2. Incentive Eligibility Determination:
    • Assess and verify employer eligibility for incentives according to the grant program's criteria
    • Review and validate apprenticeship-related documentation and records to ensure compliance with grant requirements
    • Conduct interviews or information-gathering sessions with employers to gather necessary information for incentive determination
    • Collaborate with the grant management team to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to incentive eligibility
    • Create customized training plans that satisfy grant requirements for manufacturers seeking incentive reimbursement
  3. Incentive Disbursement and Reporting:
    • Support the calculation and processing of incentive payments accurately and in a timely manner
    • Maintain comprehensive records of incentive disbursements and related documentation
    • Prepare regular reports on incentive utilization, disbursements, and outcomes for grant program stakeholders
    • Provide necessary documentation and reports for grant program audits and evaluations
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employers, apprenticeship programs, and other stakeholders regarding incentive-related inquiries
    • Provide clear and accurate information to stakeholders regarding incentive program requirements, processes, and deadlines
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote and communicate the benefits of apprenticeship incentives
    • Conduct workshops or training sessions to educate employers on incentive program guidelines and procedures
