Workforce Program Coordinator

OVERVIEW

The Workforce Program Coordinator is a full-time professional position that will serve as part of the workforce development team. Primary responsibilities include the successful operation of pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs primarily in the polymer industry in Northeast Ohio. In addition, the position may support other programming in the workforce department to include programs in manufacturing and renewable energy. The Workforce Coordinator will collaborate with partners to support the build, design, and operations of workforce and education programming, ensuring quality services are delivered to stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Workforce development and/or working in education environment
  • Stakeholder management
  • Program development and implementation
  • Prefer experience in the following areas:
    • Software: Microsoft 365, Teams, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, OneDrive
    • Grant management
    • Polymer manufacturing and/or manufacturing

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
    • Bachelor's Degree can be substituted for at least 3+ years of experience in related field/industry

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement pre-apprenticeship programs in Northeast Ohio, primarily in the polymer manufacturing, manufacturing, and renewable energy industries.
  • Support the development of registered apprenticeship programs in the polymer manufacturing industry to potentially include new occupations.
  • Support pre-apprenticeship pathway development with placement/retention into employment, enrollment into further training and/or post-secondary education, or matriculation into a registered apprenticeship program.
  • Connect job seekers with good jobs and develop a strong employer network while focusing on placement and advanced opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders involved in programs and other experts to meet program standards and develop new programs to meet employer need.
  • Facilitate and organize work-based learning activities with partner schools and organizations including registering K-12/CTE schools as pre-apprenticeship programs through Ohio State Apprenticeship Council and comply with all standards and policies.
  • Facilitate career coaching curriculum for tours, guest speakers, job shadows, and internships.
  • Design lessons, prepare material, and administer presentations for students and individuals.
  • Foster relationships with industry and associations to support the work of the Good Jobs Challenge grant and ensure alignment between training of talent and needs of industry.
  • Responsible for data collection of programmatic efforts and timely submission into data systems and reports.
  • Collaborate and provide cross-referrals with other programs within the workforce department and Manufacturing Works to support the efforts and overall mission.
  • Ensure timely program results, data management, and completion of all program documentation in compliance with all stakeholders and grant requirements.
  • Responsibilities also include supporting program reports for funders and quality assurance.
  • Attend and participate in any meetings, subgroups, peer-to-peer tables, and community of practice groups that are related to the work.
  • Support Manufacturing Works' objectives to retain and grow a healthy Northeast Ohio manufacturing base, as well as other aspects of the organization's mission.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION

Manufacturing Works offers competitive compensation and benefits, including mileage reimbursement, retirement options, medical benefits, personal time off, and professional development. After a six-month onboarding process there is a hybrid WFH option.

Salary range: $50,000 to $62,000 salary is commensurate with experience
