Industrial Development Manager

OVERVIEW

The CIRI (Cleveland Industrial Retention Initiative) Industrial Development Manager's primary responsibility will require the manager to develop and maintain relationships with Manufacturing Works staff, members, leaders of manufacturing companies, City of Cleveland officials, community partners, and resource providers. The manager will provide frontline communications with manufacturing in our service area. This position is responsible for providing solutions to Cleveland manufacturers, using a variety of resources to stimulate business and neighborhood investment, and foster job creation. The CIRI Industrial Development Manager provides outreach to manufacturing companies to identify and resolve challenges to business growth. The goal is to take on the role of trusted advisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Experience with and knowledge of manufacturing, workforce and economic development strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales, relationship management, manufacturing, or economic development, preferably a combination of these disciplines
  • Proven ability in building strategic partnerships and facilitating and developing collaborative relationships
  • Demonstrated success delivering strong customer service
  • Knowledge of business operations as well as local, state, and federal resources, and the local economic and political environments preferred
  • Accomplished in project management
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate market preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Dynamics CRM applications
  • Providing content for inbound and outbound marketing efforts
  • Prefer working experience with both a large manufacturer and a small to mid-sized owner-operator

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, trade certification, and professional association involvement beneficial
  • Experience within manufacturing environments can be used in lieu of educational degrees

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the processes by which we can meet or exceed the requirements of company site visits and services for our City of Cleveland grant
  • Contact manufacturing members and non-members on a routine basis
  • Communicate with manufacturers and guide them to programs or services, either within or outside of our organization
  • Outreach to targeted manufacturers specific to the corporate limits of the City of Cleveland
  • Activities that help us retain and grow our manufacturing membership
  • Collect information and data which leads to market analysis reports used by the organization to report to stakeholders
  • Organize outreach and meetings to ensure programs, projects and other activity milestones are being met
  • Maintain and record activities into our CRM in a timely fashion
  • Embody the core values of the organization and serve as an ambassador to internal and external audiences
  • Position is full-time

FUNDING AND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

This is a full-time position requiring occasional evening and weekend work. Transportation is a necessity as the position requires visiting manufacturing stakeholders in Cleveland and potentially the rest of Manufacturing Works service area. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be comfortable working in various manufacturing settings. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications, including databases in a PC environment.

COMPENSATION

Manufacturing Works offers competitive compensation and benefits, including mileage reimbursement, retirement options, medical benefits, personal time off, flextime, and professional development. After a six-month onboarding process there is a hybrid WFH option.

Salary range: $50,000 salary is commensurate with experience.
