Manufacturing Works For

CLEVELAND

For nearly forty years, Manufacturing Works has been at the heart of Cleveland’s industrial community, strengthening manufacturing through connection, education, and training. We’ve worked tirelessly to build relationships and create solutions that help local manufacturers thrive. Even as our work, supporting the local economy, has touched the entire Northeast Ohio region and beyond, our roots are here in Cleveland, and we do everything we can to shape this community's manufacturing ecosystem.

Let's continue working together to build a more innovative, resilient, and connected manufacturing sector that will prosper for centuries to come!

READY FOR LIFT-OFF

Celebrating Our Drone Graduates!

As part of our ARPA grant from the County, Manufacturing Works has been proud to partner with Luis Munoz School on Cleveland’s near west side to offer a Drone Aviation program to local eighth graders. This semester, 15 students have immersed themselves in the fundamentals of drone technology under the guidance of a dedicated instructor and their classroom teacher. These students have worked hard throughout the semester, and we’re excited to celebrate their accomplishments!

CIRI LEGACY

A Pillar Of Cleveland's Manufacturing Community

For nearly 30 years, the Cleveland Industrial Retention Initiative (CIRI) played a pivotal role in supporting the city’s manufacturing sector. From its inception in 1996, CIRI focused on understanding the needs of local manufacturers and finding solutions to help them thrive. Managed by Manufacturing Works since 2007, CIRI built invaluable relationships and connected manufacturers with the resources they needed to overcome challenges. While CIRI will no longer be managed by Manufacturing Works due to funding changes, its impact on Cleveland’s industrial ecosystem remains a testament to the power of collaboration. Read the full story about CIRI's lasting legacy.

MANUFACTURING NEWS

Upcoming Electricity Cost Increase: What Manufacturers Need To Know

An unexpected announcement from the PJM Grid at the end of July revealed a shocking 900% increase in electricity capacity costs, with rates reaching a record high of $269.00 per MW/Day. This surge will result in a 15-25% increase in electricity costs for all consumers, with an additional $0.015 to $0.025 per kWh added to current rates. What does this mean for manufacturers? You can find out more at an upcoming seminar, but the increased costs, which will be implemented from June 2025 through May 2026, could significantly impact your bottom line. Learn more about the factors driving this change, how it affects your energy consumption, and what you can do to manage these rising costs effectively.
