"As a long-time supporting member of Manufacturing Works, I feel important to give back to the organization and its regular members. It’s always great to connect with the members and learn more about their businesses, help solve any problems they may be having and educating them along the way. I believe the entire group learns a lot from each other, including the guest speakers!"

Why Manufacturing Is Important for Northeast Ohio

Learning Opportunities

15%

Percentage of all Ohio workers employed in manufacturing

This means roughly 1 in 7 of your neighbors, friends, and family members work in manufacturing. It's not just some abstract industry; it's the backbone of local employment.

When manufacturing does well, entire communities benefit through steady jobs and economic stability.

networking

$133B

Ohio’s manufacturing GDP, ranking it the 3rd largest manufacturing state in the U.S.

Northeast Ohio is part of a manufacturing powerhouse that competes with giants like California and Texas. This ranking means the region has serious economic weight and attracts continued investment. It also means the skills and expertise concentrated here are nationally significant, giving our region leverage and resilience.

developing-employees-K

$70,003

The average annual wage for a worker in manufacturing

This is well above Ohio's median household income and offers a genuine path to middle-class stability without requiring a four-year degree. For families in NEO where college isn't always accessible or affordable, manufacturing jobs provide solid wages, often with benefits, that can support homeownership, raising kids, and building wealth in your community.
