"Plant" Tour: Max Hayes High School

  Building the Manufacturing Pipeline

Opened in 2015, the state-of-the-art facilities at Max S. Hayes High School give students the opportunity to earn credentials in multiple high-tech industries. As the only high school in Cleveland to offer career technical training in manufacturing pathways, Max Hayes is now home to the first CNC Machining Pre-Apprenticeship in Northeast Ohio! Join us to learn more about the school's programs and see for yourself what your future workforce is learning.

In addition to hands-on training in onsite labs, learning experiences are extended outside the classroom to students as early as their freshman year. These offerings connect school learning to experiences in the workplace through job shadowing and internships—creating a pipeline of new skilled workers for the future. Students earn articulated college credit related to their pathway while attending high school. Additionally, students earn pathway certifications from organizations like the National Institute of Metalworking Skills, the American Welding Society, and Automotive Service Excellence.
